Rsquared value is used in statistics to determine the relative correlation of individuals points (x - Point Total, y - Job Rate values) to the determined line of best fit. The line of best fit (or trendline as used in MS excel) is the line that is determine to be the closest line in reference to all points used to determine the line.

Rsquared values range from 0 to 1 with a 1 being a prefect representation of the points, in other words when graphed all the points would fall directly on the line.  A zero (0) value represents a line that has no correlation to the points that are used to create the line, in other words the line cannot be used to the predict the value of an x or y given one or the other.

An rsquared value of less than .75 is considered questionable in its ability to predict a missing x or y value given one, in other words, given an evaluated Point Total (x value) and plotting on a line of best fit with an rsquared value of less than .75 would not necessarily accurately indicate what the Job Rate (y value) for the Job Class should be.

Rsquared value is automatically calculated for all Jobs requiring Proportional Value.
