Description:

An Optimized Pay Equity Analysis uses a series of algorithms and rules to test and identify a generally acceptable banding scenario that has lower/minimal Pay Equity adjustments.

Warnings:

1. The Optimized Pay Equity Analysis does not guarantee that it will identify the banding scenario that generates the least Pay Equity adjustments or that other scenarios do not exist that have equal or lower adjustments.

2. The Optimized Pay Equity Analysis does not guarantee that it will create a banding scenario that is acceptable within the Pay Equity legislation.  Only a Pay Equity Review Officer or the Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal can deem a banding scenario acceptable. Please contact an HCI consultant or legal council to discuss further.

How to Create:

By clicking the  Optimize Pay Equity Analysis  button above the Banding table the Compensation Tool automatically will start testing and identifying a banding scenario that is optimized (as described above). No other actions are required by the user. After complete the new optimized banding scenario will appear in your Banding table, with the Title "Optimized Banding Scenario - current date and time" and you will receive an email stating the optimization is complete.

Once the Optimization is complete the banding scenario will behave like any other banding scenario in your project and you can view the resulting banding scenario and Pay Equity analysis through the appropriate links associated to the banding scenario. The optimization may take several hours to complete depending on the number of Job Classes and years within your project.
